Deepening our Meditation
Without Frustration.
Most of us have enough stress, effort, and strain in our life. Let’s not make meditation one more hard thing to do. Whatever meditation technique we choose, it should help us to have a better understanding and relationship with our self (the primary relationship that affects all other relationships). Swami Asokananda will introduce a simple three-step approach to meditation that has kept his meditation practice interesting, meaningful, and rejuvenating for over 40 years. Chairs and cushions are available for your comfort.

The goal of the class is to experience increased vitality, combined with a deep sense of peace.

The Yoga of Communication: Dealing with Conflict from the Heart
Discover the yogic secrets to good communication! Learning to listen & speak from our 4th chakra (the Heart) can deepen our relationship, especially when dealing with difficult situations. We want to strike a balance of ahimsa (nonviolence) and satya (truthfulness), while making it safe for each person to get information and feelings out in the open. In this discussion with a true yoga master, we’ll learn how yogic awareness can help us let go of our ego, cultivate compassion, and understand the wisdom of our heart; thereby discovering the key to resolving conflict.

Swami Asokananda, a monk since 1973, is one of Integral Yoga’s foremost teachers, known for his warmth, intelligence and good humor. His teaching comes out of his own practice and experience, having absorbed the wisdom of his guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, since the age of nineteen. While he enjoys sharing the practical wisdom of the yogic philosophy (especially the great Indian scripture, the Bhagavad Gita), he also loves his practice of Hatha Yoga and is one of Integral Yoga's primary instructors for Intermediate and Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. In the past he has served as the President of Satchidananda Asham – Yogaville and Integral Yoga International and is currently President of the New York Integral Yoga Institute.
