YogaSpace is an open invitation to the practice of yoga in an accepting, supportive, and loving environment. We offer over 20 classes a week with certified instructors in our light-filled studio. We offer a variety of classes every day (see schedule) and many styles of yoga classes to meet your needs along with meditation, expressive movement, tai chi and special workshops.

Our space includes a yoga shop and lounge to support your practice and our sense of community. Stop by for a cup of tea, connect with students and teachers, and check out our collection of books, clothing, jewelry, CDs, artwork and more...

Originally started by Natasha Raymond in December of 2001, YogaSpace is now a mecca in the Northern Fairfield County area for students and teachers alike. Currently owned and operated by Yoga Teachers Gloria Owens, Heather Philip and Saeeda Quaisar, YogaSpace continues to foster healthy living, spiritual connection and a consious community dedicated to the practice of yoga on and off the mat.

While our yoga students come from far & wide; we particularly serve students from Brookfield and our surrounding local towns: Bethel, Bridgewater, Danbury, Newtown, New Fairfield, New Milford, Redding, Ridgefield, and Southbury, CT. Click here to see our location and get directions.

There are many flexible options for participating in YogaSpace classes; including simply dropping-in to a class (see rates), purchase a variety of class pass options, and even pay what you wish in our by-donation class. We also offer Yoga Gift Certificates that make great presents!

If you would like to be on the YogaSpace mailing list, please "Opt-In" by joining our e-mail list. We do not share your personal information with anyone else.

YogaSpace can be rented for your group's workshops of events. We have chairs, backjacks, mats, pillows, blankets, whiteboard, etc. for your use - all in a beautiful sacred space. For more information and rates, contact us.

ABOUT THE OWNERS:

Gloria Owens

Gloria is a Kripalu-Certified Yoga Instructor who has been teaching yoga since 1994 and practicing for more than 20 years. She has been a constant presence at YogaSpace since its inception in 2001.

As a talented graphic designer, artist and photographer, Gloria also brings her visionary spirit to the studio. Manifesting beauty is her joy – whether she is creating sacred space in the studio, designing this website or making sure that each student has the opportunity to experience his or her own beauty and divinity through the practice of yoga!

Gloria continues to hold the vision of YogaSpace as a thriving, living, breathing community creation; inviting everyone who enters to manifest their highest potential here!

You can check out a gallery of Gloria's fine art here and a 4-minute multimedia presentation that was shown at the United Nations in 2010 as part of the UN's Week of Spirituality and Global Concerns.

Saeeda Quaisar

An avid student of YogaSpace since its beginning in 2001, Saeeda found yoga sanctuary here. Now, she is delighted to begin a new relationship with YogaSpace as co-owner.

Born and raised in Rajasthan, India (The Land of Yogis), Saeeda is inspired by the philosophy of Baba Ramadev, a folk deity of Rajasthan who has spread yoga and ayurveda around the world.

Saeeda brings a unique perpective to YogaSpace; blending East & West through her many years of devotional influences in India and by studying, working and raising a family here in the US (she is a mother of three, and lives locally with her family in Brookfield).

In addition to holding an MBA from The University of New Haven, in the summer of 2011 Saeeda completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA.

Heather Philip

Heather Philip never wanted to practice yoga. For years she avoided the gentle but persistent chiding of a friend who wanted to introduce her to yoga. In the middle of her first class, Heather recalls the much clichéd but no less true “lightbulb moment." From the recesses of her disbelieving mind, a clear voice said “There’s something else going on here." From that moment on, Heather has practiced yoga to experience that something else.

In 2006, Heather completed her 200-hour teacher training at Kripalu. In January of 2007 Heather created the Kripalu Yoga By Donation class at Yogaspace. Donations from this class have been collected for charitable organizations locally and around the world.

A native of Danbury, Heather has been a local business owner as well as a yoga teacher and practitioner at Yogaspace. She is excited to develop programs and classes to serve the greater Yogaspace community.
